Make Over Process-Our Panama City House
Trials and tribulations of what it means to own a home are nothing short of a blessing! When I say blessing, that is exactly what it is to us.
Let me clarify why this is by starting off with how we managed to find this little home tucked away in Millville, PC. We were living in Youngstown just North of Panama City and needed to find ourselves a home in a short amount of time because we were living in our RV and found out that putting a septic tank on the property we own in Altha, FL was a little out of our price range at the time. Work in progress, we'll put it there eventually. A client of my husbands and a mutual friend mentioned that his better half was a realtor and could help us find a home. We of course, were over joyed for the help and immediately connected with her. While we were looking at homes all over the Bay county area we ran across this house and were excited to find out that it was within our budget to purchase. One thing led to another and we got our first peak. That's when the real fun began! We went back in forth for quite some time over insurance, move-in dates, down payments, and the house inspection being done twice due to a mistake by the first inspector. It was a real deal, but with persistence and some serious dedication from our realtor we were in before Christmas. Thank the Lord, and what a perfect Christmas gift too. When I say we were in, I don't mean living in mind you. No, that came about a month later after some serious cleaning, and a whole lot of love and money. Let me just say that we are eternally grateful for the support, and the help we received by all parties that helped us get here. We wouldn't be here without the blessings of all of you. The whole process took us from June to January, but it was well worth the wait because we love our little home here in Millville. We have a park on the end of our street with a boardwalk and a Disc-golf course. It has an area for ATV's and what looks to be an old restaurant before Hurricane Michael came through. Praying the city puts our extra park and recs payment into fixing it up soon for our community here.
Looking through the slideshow you'll see many pictures of the remodel after we cleaned it thoroughly. Those calamine lotion walls were enough to make us nauseated. If you know me in the slightest I love pink for certain things, but most definitely not all over the walls. Especially that color of pink, and in every room. It was an experience that we will carry with us always. Bad stuff and good stuff. It has been a real joy bringing new life to this home of ours. We got to put our own touch on our home and enjoy it with the love and respect we so desperately had been waiting for. We are still updating and adding to it, so it isn't completely finished, but we have had a wonderful time and will continue to pore our love and faith into seeing it blossom.
Details of work preformed:
Scrubbing cabinets, countertops, sinks, floors, windows, washing walls, spackle/mudding, sanding, painting, replacing washer hook-ups; hot water valve, outlets, removing sliding glass doors and installing French doors and a pet door, putting in flower beds and garden beds, and installing solar panels to eliminate our electric bill and help out our community. All to be expected and enjoyed.
P.S. If you have ever put in a pet door, you know that they're fairly simple to install, not for this house though, it was a sweet surprise. Lets just say there is more than one layer of love on this house. We'll call that good, but if you ever get a chance to ask my husband about the experience you'll be sure to find out just how much fun he had with that small pet door, lol. He was not at all impressed with the work cut out on that project, but he did a fantastic job on it and now has plenty of experience in pet door installation.
With love and gratitude have a beautiful and blessed day!
